Prt. Frederick George Watton, formerly of the Hampshire Regiment, served with No.6 Commando from, at least, 5th June 1944.

Prt. Frederick Watton was reported as being Killed In Action (KIA) on the 10th June 1944, aged 21 years.

Frederick was the son of J. and Agnes Watton, of Moordown, Bournemouth, Hampshire; and the husband of Lucy Watton, of Wallisdown, Bournemouth, and was laid to rest in Ranville War Cemetry (Calvados, France). Grave IIIA.H.6.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘We will remember, in the sunset glory. The life you gave, shall never grow old.’
